Old Mistresses: The Lost Women of Art History

For centuries, women artists have had to fight to be seen and heard. Working in a man’s world, they defied convention, overcame exclusion and forged careers against extraordinary odds – becoming pioneers whose influence still resonates today.

In this multi-disciplinary evening talk, Rose explores how women were not simply sidelined in art history, but systematically written out of it. By restoring these women to the canon, this event will reclaim their groundbreaking art and powerful stories — shining a light on achievements that history long overlooked.

The stories will be brought vividly to life through bold and powerful choral music, including a very special performance by Melissa Alder.
