This art history course at the XVA Gallery will run during April and May, Wednesday mornings between 1030am and 12.30pm. Full course details will be announced early March and for more details on the venue please contact ellie@xvagallery.com.
The course starts in the middle of the 19th century. Courbet and Manet lead the way with their revolution in paint – chucking out the old traditions of the Paris Salon for something fresh, contemporary and entirely of its time. We’ll see how the art world in late 19th and early 20th century Europe gathers pace rapidly and thrillingly. This is the time for ‘isms’ in art – Rose will take us deep into the world of Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Cubism, Fauvism, Expressionism, Surrealism and much more.
If you’d like Rose to tailor a private art history course for you and your friends, please contact her for more information.
